Q: Rick, you’ve been on staff for more than 23 years. Is there one moment or story that stays with you as a highlight?
A: It’s hard to name just one! I enjoy the times when I see something positive happen in a child’s life, like when I see the look of joy on their face when they finally understand how to do something after struggling with it day after day. I have experienced many of those moments while teaching children how to show animals at our barn.
I treasure the sincere “thank you” hugs that the children give from time to time.
I love to see the children exhibit confidence because they know how to do something that I taught them. I love it when I see a child decide to follow Jesus and get baptized. I love it when I see a single-parent family accept the Lord, dig their heels in, and essentially begin a new life journey.
Q: How can we be praying alongside you for the children, families, and young adults we serve?
A: Please pray for each one that they will be able to learn, thrive, and live their lives in a way that honors God. Pray that they can experience the peace and happiness that is only found in a life with Him.
Pray that all of our staff will be encouraged and blessed as they work with those we serve and that they will be able to minister with joy.
And please also pray that we will receive the funding and support needed to continue doing the Lord’s work through our ministries.
