SOCIAL WORKER

The Social Worker reports to the Social Services Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating social services (to include educational planning) for all NMCCH clients who require them.


It is expected that the Social worker will meet with clients weekly, complete intake, complete needs assessment, provide life skill resources and monitor progress for clients during their time within, and after participation in, our NMCCH programs. With the supervision of the Social Services Coordinator, the intern will also assist clients in educational needs such as researching colleges/trade schools, completing application/admissions, financial aid, and coordination of client's accommodations.


Required


  • Earned a Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW) Degree at an accredited University.
  • Earned a social work license
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Understands and uses Microsoft Office effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality, sensitivity, and empowerment of others
  • Professional presentation and attitude with coworkers, clients, vendors and public.


Preferred


  • Willing to develop additional Social working skills and credentials
  • 3+ years of proven work experience in a similar role
  • 3+ years of proven work experience in a non-profit organization


Additional Requirements as required under CYFD licensing



  • Proof of academic records
  • Successful completion of a national criminal records background check (to include fingerprinting)
